Guinea pigs may be small, but their coat colors and patterns are spectacular. From the velvet richness of a chocolate short-hair to the speckled artistry of a Dalmatian, every piggy wears a unique palette. That’s why we created The Piggy Color Wheel — a vibrant, whimsical visual guide to some of the most common (and uncommon!) guinea pig coat Colors.
Whether you’re trying to ID your piggy’s look, exploring what makes each pattern special, or just love seeing adorable piglets in painterly perfection, this is for you.

Dalmatian / Roan
Speckled beauty — black or gray on a white base. Rare, especially in rescues.

Brindle

Why We Made This
There are over a dozen recognized guinea pig breeds even more color variations — which makes identifying them both fun and a bit tricky. This series isn’t about strict genetics — it’s about celebrating the sheer variety of cavy beauty and giving piggy parents a helpful, delightful visual reference.
